Theme:  Legal, policy, technical, commercial, and human factor challenges to a globally owned universal digital library.

Scope:  The ICUDL 2007 is the third in a series of International Conferences on Universal Digital Libraries.  Its theme focuses on the challenges facing the many large digitization projects now underway.  Information technology, digital library, legal, and human factor researchers will have an opportunity to share information and plan for the future.  Participants are sought from around the world and across disciplines.  Submissions are welcome on a broad range of topics including:

* Intellectual Property
* Digital library infrastructure and architecture
* Digital library models
* Content organization and knowledge management
* Collaboration and localization
* Information storage and retrieval for global access
* Multimedia processing and retrieval
* Multi-lingual information retrieval systems, including Unicode
* Digital preservation
* Standards in digital library design and development
* Digital library services
* Digital library network and information sharing
* Economic issues of digital libraries and e-learning
* Tools and techniques for digital libraries

Short papers will allow 20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for discussion.  Text of 8 pages double spaced, a detailed outline, an abstract or a set of powerpoint slides may be submitted for review beginning on June 21, 2007.  Submissions will cease on September 1, 2007.  Authors will be notified of acceptance by September 21, 2007.  The final powerpoint presentations and written papers to submit will be due by October 21, 2007 and will be posted on the web site after the conference.
