THE ENDURING LEGACY OF WOOD V. LADY DUFF GORDON

November 8th and 9th 2007


This year marks the ninetieth anniversary of Wood v. Lucy Lady Duff Gordon, 222 N.Y. 88, 118 N.E. 214 (1917), one of the most enduring and influential cases in the contracts pantheon. Pace University School of Law is sponsoring a symposium on Thursday and Friday, November 8th and 9th, 2007 to reconsider the case and to appreciate the accomplishments of Lady Lucy, who as Lucile, became one of the twentieth century’s most innovative fashion designers.  Scholars, who have committed to participate include Victor Goldberg, Peter Linzer and Joseph Perillo.The symposium will explore the influence of the case on legal doctrine and its enduring fascination to students and scholars.

REGISTRATION FEE:

There will be a nominal registration fee of $75, which will include a lunch and dinner.
